The meeting schedules have changed to support the Draft NP Comment and Review process, which is now underway. The list of meetings is below. The NPSG will endeavour to arrange additional drop in sessions as requested by villagers, in locations like the Oasis or the Bustard, as well as on Zoom. If you want a session, please email info@shrewton.info and the NPSG team will try to set something up.

19 Oct 25
There was a NP Drop In session on Thursday 16 Oct in the Village Hall. There were maps and posters of the latest information in the Neighbourhood Plan Draft V1-1. Members of the NPSG, Parish Councillors and a number of villagers discussed many opportunities, requirements, issues, challenges and questions that are surfacing from the national and local planning situation. Most of the discussion centred on the major candidate development sites - 146, 150, 151, 154, the effects on traffic and necessary modifications to the Rollestone crossroads, improving the environment and addressing waste water discharge problems.

Many villagers provided formal written comments on paper. These are being added to the many comments arriving via email to info@shrewton.info . A spreadsheet of comments should be available on this site within the coming days for everyone to view.

If you haven't done so, please download and read the NP Draft V1-1. Then send your comments by email to info@shrewton.info, please, by 31 Oct 25. Instructions for paper comments are on the Draft.

The Village needs your comments
Paper copies are available to read in the Bridge Garage, Village Hall and Profile Hair Studio. They should shortly be available to read in the Social Club, The Plume, and the Bustard Inn.

What Happens Next? The NPSG is trying to arrange an extra Drop In session for those that requested it and it will also organise a session on line - please watch out for this.

There is also a new WhatsApp group - Shrewton Neighbourhood Plan. You can get the link from the Community Support Group or by email from info@shrewton.info. Sorry, but we can't post it here without being spammed.

The new government’s planning targets and policies are about to increase significantly the number of new houses to be built in Shrewton before 2030. At the same time, the amount of traffic through the village is expected to increase if alternative arrangements are not made.

For the second time in 12 years, Shrewton Parish Council has launched the development of a Neighbourhood Plan as a legally recognised instrument for Shrewton to be able to control and influence the development of housing, infrastructure and transport within Shrewton and the external infrastructure and services upon which Shrewton depends. This second project to develop a Neighbourhood Plan draws heavily on the extensive work done during the first project.

Shrewton Parish Council has formally sponsored the Neighbourhood Planning Steering Group (NPSG) to be the focus for the development and delivery of the Neighbourhood Plan. Shrewton Parish Council will support and work closely with the NPSG to achieve this. We need volunteers to help!!
