WHO WE ARE

WHAT is this about?

This is about us creating a Neighbourhood Plan (NP) that the village can use to influence, control or constrain unwanted or inappropriate development of housing and infrastructure in the village.

WHEN is this happening?

The NP Steering Group (NPSG) is forming and work to develop the NP is well underway.

WHY should I care?

Everyone, young, old and in between, in the village should care about their future in the village, and the future of the village itself as it comes under increasing pressure to build more houses within the next 5 years.

WHO is involved?

Every person should be involved and have their say, but they must have their say together.  It is the community that is involved, so we need volunteers in the village, including all the organisations and community assets,  to help build and shape an agreed set of community requirements.  These community requirements underpin the NP.

HOW are we tackling it?

The NPSG is forming with the purpose of engaging with every member of the community to capture and evolve these community requirements into a NP that we can all support with confidence for our future.

WHAT are the next steps?

The NPSG....

  • Holds two public meetings a month on Zoom and at the Rec/Village Hall.  See Meetings for timings.

  • Issued a Questionnaire to gather views across all corners of the village

  • Is engaging with stakeholder organisations and encouraging their participation

  • Is identifying and reviewing all community facilities, which are mostly buildings and premises used by different parts of the community.  We want to protect and nurture each one that the village agrees is needed, if it is viable.

  • Is pulling together all sorts of information and references that will affect the development of the NP and also its contents.

  • Is creating a calendar of events, including monthly Public Meetings, both online and in person, backed up with thematic NP meetings for key organisations and institutions in the village.
